Solubility    slightly soluble in water.

Stability    stable. Under strong acid or strong alkali condition, easily hydrolyzed. Easily oxidized.

(1b), Professional use: maximum concentration is 11% (as thioglycolic acid); pH 6.0 to 9.5.

(2), In accordance with EU regulations (EC) No 1223/2009, directive 88/233/EEC, thioglycolic acid esters are included in Annex III/2b.
