Structure

Main ingredient:

Properties

Appearance    (1), solid; (2), yellow liquid.

Solubility    soluble in water, soluble in ethanol.

Stability    stable.

Risk    Solid form: flammable material; irritation, irritation to skin, eye, respiratory system. Harmful products of combustion are CO, CO2 and so on. Contact with strong oxidants, can cause to burn.

GHS label:

Ecology    may be hazardous to environment. Water body should be given special attention.

Biodegradability    biodegradable.

Characteristics    excellent cleansing, emulsifying, dispersing, lubricating, solubilizing, foaming, wetting abilities.

Note    (1), Mixture of dehydroabietic acid potassium salt, dihydroabietate acid potassium salt and tetrahydroabietic acid potassium salt, dehydroabietic acid potassium salt is the main component.

(2), The conjugated double bonds in abietic acid potassium salt have a serious inhibitory effect on polymerization. Therefore, when applied to polymerization, the content of abietic acid potassium salt should be strictly controlled, and the content should be below 0.5%.

Synthesis

Obtained that disproportionated rosin reacts with potassium hydroxide.
