CAS: 93348-22-2
EINECS: 297-163-5
Molecular Formula & Molecular Weight
Molecular Formula: N/A
Molecular Weight: N/A
Structure
R: C14-16.
Properties
Appearance (1), white to yellow powder or flaky solid.
Solubility soluble in water.
Stability stable in weak acid, weak alkali, hard water. Under strong acid or strong alkali, easily hydrolyze.
Risk Solid form: flammable material; irritation, low irritation to skin, eye. Harmful products of combustion are CO, CO2 and so on. Contact with strong oxidants, can cause to burn.
GHS label:
Ecology may be hazardous to environment. Water body should be given special attention.
Biodegradability biodegradable.
Characteristics excellent cleansing, foaming, emulsifying, dispersing, wetting, solubilizing, permeating abilities. Mild. Good lime soap dispersing power. Foaming, cleansing capacities are higher than the corresponding sodium alkylbenzenesulfonate in hard water. In laundry detergent, the third representative surface active agent is used instead of alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS). Suitable for neutral formula system.
Ingredients description (1), 2-Sulfo C16-18 fatty acid disodium salt should be strictly controlled in order to avoid affecting product quality.
Note (1), Be careful to use in children washing products, such as shampoo, bath liquid and so on.
Synthesis
In film reactor (for example: falling film reactor), C16-18 fatty acid methyl ester reacts with sulphur trioxide, then age, bleach, neutralize, finally obtain.
