[Terminology] Non-aqueous solution system of surfactant
As the name implies, non-aqueous solution system of surfactant does not use water as solvent.
However, compared with water, there are many kinds of non-aqueous solvents, such as non-polar solvents (such as aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons), polar solvents (alcohols, ketones, ethers).
Different non-aqueous solvents have different properties, so the corresponding non-aqueous solution system of surfactant will also have different properties.
In aqueous solutions, surfactant can form micelle. Similarly, in non-aqueous solutions, surfactant can also form micelle, which is called reversed micelle.
Dry cleaning is one of the practical applications of non-aqueous solution system of surfactant.
